Islam & mondial

Roland Robertson, not entirely convincing on the historicising of the double matrix of nation societalism and ideas of global consciousness, tracing a strange historical periodisation (which downplays the implementation of capitalism and colonialism in striking measure, and doesn't quite propose a counterbalancing notion of the global historical process), still notes unexpected things, almost quirky. Some quite intriguing and lucid.
One trait sounds strongly, one of the last (this stops at the 90s) : 'Islam as a deglobalising / reglobalizing movement' (followed by the last note : 'Earth summit in Rio de Janeiro').
(Steger p. 69).
